Before&After | merry christmas

I took this photo at a loverly old house we were touring while in NC (which I'll be posting on my main blog later today).  Besides the fact that I unintentionally cut off the C in Christmas, I really and truly like it.

To give it a bit of umph, though, I wanted to warm it up a bit and bring out the red lettering.  After a bit of experimentation on Picnik, I came up with this...

And, I am in love. :)

Before&After | Soccer

I'm using this as a little sneak-peek opportunity for a shoot I did during my brother's soccer game a few weeks ago. Something I learned here was how annoyingly hard it is to get an image like this completely in focus, and I nailed it here.  Oh, and #13 (whoever he is) is a pretty awesome. Just sayin'.

And my edit, on Picnik.com using premium elements...

I forget exactly what I did here, but I know everything was pretty basic - cropped, brought up exposure/contrast, perhaps done some things with curves...but that's pretty much it.

fix-it friday #77

Man, it's been awhile since I've participated in a Fix-It Friday over at I Heart Faces.  I was very much afraid that I was going to have to bypass it again this week, but when I saw this sweet gal being featured...well, I couldn't help myself. ;)  Today we're using these beautiful photo of Michelle Johnson's:

Here's SOOC:

I really didn't have to do much here - Just a few minor changes in layers, exposure, and temperature in Picnik.

I then decided to add some texture just for fun - and I really like what it did.

I was also curious to see what this would look like in black and white, and did an addition B&W with sepia edit as well (click to enlarge).  Loveliness:-)

What do you think?  And, as usual, which is your favorite?

Have a great weekend, everyone!
