editing: just a slight boost in exposure, contrast, temp, etc.

editing: cropped, boosted in exposure, contrast, etc.

editing:  once again, just raises in coloring and contrast

editing: more basic adjustments, as well as my vivid sunlight recipe.

CONTEST NO LONGER RUNNING

As some of you may know, I'm a photographer at Bloom! Magazine, and a fellow of mine Staff Member, sweet Rachel, has started a photography contest.  Doing my Staff Member duty, I'm spreading the word in hopes that some of you lovelies will get the chance to enter:-)


HOW TO ENTER:
Post four pictures on your blog. Be sure to leave a link back to this post.
Come back to this blog, and leave a link to that post. Leave the link in a comment.
You will recieve a comment on that post so that you know we saw your entries!


THE RULES:
You may only enter four photos.
They can be edited, please say how you edited them.
Photos must be your own, taken by YOU.
Photos must follow the theme.

I Heart Faces :: Gotta Wear Shades!

We're celebrating sunglasses at I Heart Faces this week - how fun of an idea is that?!  I don't have anything extremely amazing or unique for this week's challenge, but I do have plenty of lovelies in my folders that would qualify for the theme.  Looking back at our Virginia Beach vacation (which I really, really, really need to edit!) I found this one of my sweet Godfather...

Taken on the dolphin-watching cruise we went on - lots of fun! I love how you can see the reflection of the deck in his glasses:-)

Embracing the Unexpected...

My lovely friend Guin is having a photography contest at here photo blog, and I couldn't help but enter:)  Here's how Guin describes the theme:

The subjects must be something out of the ordinary, something unnoticed but beautiful once you see it. Something different. I know this sounds like a lot to ask, but I mean, a flower stuck in the rook of a tree, an interesting crowd of people,a small single clover, something in an odd position.

Wow - out-of-place but beautiful.  I love capturing that kind of thing.

I quickly picked out the four pictures in my head that I wanted to enter - you'll notice that most of them are kind of relating to the examples above:-)

Well, this one is actually a bit of a joke. It's not exactly a "good" photo and I'm not sure if it quite fits the theme, but it's just about my favorite thing ever.  As you might have guessed, I took this on my trip to Rome.  Dad and I were just exiting the Colosseum when we saw this dude texting and decided that I NEEDED to get a picture of it=)  He looks so tough, so serious, so fierce, I wondering what he was texting about?  ;-)

I Heart Faces :: Teens Only

This week, I Heart Faces is having a Teens-Only photo challenge.

For me, it's not much different than usually, except for the fact that all of the other entries are from teens as well.

It was super-hard to decide what to enter this week, as there's no actual theme and I have so many favorite face photos!

I thought and dug and thought some more and finally decided on this...

I'm still trying to decide if it was the right decision:-)

I'm so excited to see all of the fabulous teen entries this week!

I want to view every single one.

I Heart Faces :: Pets

My first time entering an I Heart Faces challenge here on my photography blog.  This week's theme is "Pets Only", and although a human face isn't mandatory as usual, Megan happens to be in my photo as well:-)
